My daughter (who's also a great friend and my QAF Buddy) is back at college. This year she has two new roommates. One is a lovely young lady, who seems sweet and cooperative. My daughter found out over the summer that the other one is ultra-conservative. She was concerned about hanging up her rainbows, political refrigerator magnets, QAF posters, etc. but I told her that she wasn't hanging up gay porn and that it was her space around her bed. I sarcastically said that if her roommate had a picture of Bush to hang that would be part of her space.

I hope you're all sitting down--this girl really DID hang up a picture of that moron in Washington, DC. I nearly spit out the soda I was drinking when my daughter told me. My daughter's tolerance will be tested this year--I just hope her roommate can be tolerant as well!!!

Here's the clincher, my daughter hasn't gotten too close, but she thinks it may actually be autographed. Ahhhhhhh! :/

I wouldn't be able to handle that situation.

One of my kids friends has his picture on the refrigerator. They throw spaghetti noodles at him to see if they are done. They also throw random food items just for fun.

Wait. I don't think it's quite the same thing.

If your daughter starts to get too annoyed, appeal to her better side. Remind her that the first amendment allows her roommate to put up things she likes, because even stupid people have a right to free speech. Also, remind her that that is what makes us better than her, because we recognize that people have rights in this country: even people with whom we disagree.

Mommy I love how you post my life and get a zillion comments about it. Much love to everyone for their fab advice, but right now my roomates political stance is the least of my worries. She seems to be personality-wise like someone I would not enjoy spending time with because she kind of has that "popular" air about her. And I don't mean like Galinda the good witch or anything. Perhaps my mommy will update everyone on this new issue I have. Much love to everyone...........especially mommy!!!!

Did your daughter then immediately put up her posters? Man, I'd love having the opportunity to piss off any conservatives with my QAF fan flare.

I can't believe some people put pictures up. It's the President of the United States, not Jesus fuckin' Christ. What symbolic reminder does it stand for, ultimate prickery?

Not too mention my kid tells me she wants to "redecorate" the room and have the other two roomies chip in bucks. I DON'T THINK SO!!!

I don't understand what's with the pic either? :/
Maybe someone can give her a pic of Pat Boone instead? Oy!!!
