QAF: About the Shawn Postoff "notorious" e-mail: He may have all the intent in the world to demonstrate his concept of the overall Brian Kinney arc but that is clearly not what ended up on the screen when the directors and editors got their input. My big shocker would be if Cowlip had stated the same, because they have never denied Brian's growing love for Justin and his slow realization that he is capable of both giving and receiving love in their relationship. It's just his ability to balance the give and take in a romantic love relationship that is still skewed, but that's part of continual personal growth. We know Cowlip watches all the final edits, so as long as they use their eyes and brains in conjunction they know what is portrayed to their audience.

While I watch oodles of hours of my QAF dvd's, I don't want to totally lose touch with new programs that might be worth viewing, so here's my foray into some new stuff that's being offered:

WEEDS: I started watching the new Showtime series "Weeds" last week and saw ep. 2 last night. Although this is billed as a sitcom, it has some pretty heavy topics it's dealing with and I did NOT find myself laughing at all during the second ep. I did find alot of the first episode quite funny. I'm enjoying the quality performances by Mary Louise Parker and Elizabeth Perkins and the kid who plays the younger son is quite a character. The funniest and best timed scenes, so far, seem to be at Aunt Helia's (sp.?) house when discussing the purchase, sale and all the ins and outs of the "business".

Starved: Last night I watched the encore showing of "Starved" on FX. I probably never would have noticed if 'negativeerin' hadn't mentioned it in a post last week. That is one VERY OFFBEAT comedy. The main characters, their families and relationships are bizaar, dysfunctional, pitiful and hilarious all rolled into one. It's fast-paced and the premise of eating disorders lurks in many of us. So many people I know, including myself, have "issues" involving food intake which makes it easy to relate, in some small way, to at least one of the characters and their storylines. I'll keep visiting this one to see if it can hold my interest.

It was so bizaar and creative that I definitely want to give it some attention, however, having only seen ep. 2 (I missed the pilot), I'm holding my final judgement about my overall opinion. It's on Thursday nights on FX. If you watch, I'd like to know what you think.
